Entering the 80s

Who doesn’t love the eighties! We sure do, so this season we will be bringing the eighties into our homes. After combing through our G Plan archives, we are feeling inspired. From colours to Cabinets, we have come up with a list of ways you can bring the eighties into your home this season.

Colour and Pattern

Although we love neutrals and minimalism, it can be fun to experiment with colour in your home too! The warm tones of pinks and reds dominated the eighties. Cosy, homely and bright, reds and pinks could be the perfect colour palette for your home. For the red fans, check out our Rush Claret Fabric, for that deep eighties red. For those who love pink, our Chenille Yarn Liso Coral Fabric is the perfect soft pink to make your Sofa pop.

Blues were also big in the eighties, and whilst deep navy blues have been popular the last few years, we’re nostalgic for the turquoise pop of the eighties. Our Liso Crest Fabric is bright, beautiful and bold. Ideal for getting that eighties look.

Retro cabinets

Who doesn’t love retro cabinets? Especially G Plan ones. Our Cabinet Collections could be found throughout living rooms all over the country in the eighties. Our Marlow Collection, in collaboration with Baker Furniture, is retro, classic and stylish. Bring a slice of nostalgia into your home with this collection.

Leather

Suave, stylish and supple, Leather was all over our Living Rooms in the eighties. Not only does it look good, it’s also convenient and easy to clean. Whilst Leather is still popular now, plush velvet Sofas have dominated recent trends. Whilst we love velvet too, for that eighties look, Leather is the way to go.

For a classic look, opt for a dark leather, like Cambridge Buffalo. You can add extra details too, by opting for our contrast stitch option. If you want to make a statement, a coloured leather gives a bold retro feel. Our Leather in Capri Claret is a great way to incorporate eighties red with Leather.

Statement rugs

A great and affordable way to add some personality into your home is through a fun rug! In eighties interiors, people weren’t afraid to have some fun with textures and patterns, and we think we should bring that back. From florals to geometrics, there’s no limit to the designs and patterns you can find on rugs. We love this one from Dunelm.

There you have it, here are some of our favourite eighties interior trends to incorporate into your home!
